This is the first ever Sabu's cover drawn by Ben Kimura (木村 べん)!Prior to this issue, the cover art was drawn by legendary Go Mishima (三島 剛). Mishima was the man who launched Sabu in 1974. He was in charge of not only cover arts, but also illustrations and the centerfold photography from the first issue until he died in 1989.

Hi,
Thanks for starting this blog... Sounds very interesting for me because I would like to review some SABU magazines,... but they are hard to get. Do you know if in this issue (#174) there are any illustrations of Sadao Hasegawa? I would like to have good size scans of those illustrations.... You can contact me at leauf@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance
Thanks for your comment!
Unfortunately, there are no illustrations of Sadao Hasegawa in this issue. I saw his artworks in "Barazoku" magazines well, but I haven't seen in "Sabu" as far as I remember.
Anyway, I'll keep it in mind! :)
Thanks for your answer, please keep it in mind for me, because most of the biographies of Sadao said that he was an illustrator for the SABU magazine as well. Do you also have some BARAZOKU or SAMSON magazines? On again, thanks for your efforts, please continue this blog... can you also include in your blog scans of the illustrations of Ben Kimura in the SABU issues... he is great!
